DROP 003: FIRECREST

Operation FIRECREST marks the return of the UK Carrier Strike Group to the North Atlantic and High North, where HMS Prince of Wales, Royal Navy escorts and the UK Lightning Force F-35B aircraft will operate alongside NATO allies in one of the Alliance's most important regions.

As activity in the North Atlantic increases, FIRECREST demonstrates NATO protecting vital sea lanes, critical undersea infrastructure and demonstrating Britain's ability to project combat air power from the sea whenever and wherever it is required.

The FIRECREST patch celebrates that commitment. Inspired by the UK's Carrier Strike mission, it represents the integration of air and maritime power, the versatility of the F-35B Lightning Force, and the professionalism of the crews deploying in support of NATO operations.
